Damian Lillard reportedly joined Bucks from Blazers

Damian Lillard is being traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three-team deal that also includes the Phoenix Suns.

The Bucks are sending Jrue Holiday to the Blazers, Deandre Ayton to the Blazers, and Jusuf Nurkic to the Suns. The Blazers are also getting an unprotected 2029 first-round draft

pick and two unprotected first-round pick swaps in 2028 and 2030.Lillard requested a trade from the Blazers on July 1, after the team failed to make the playoffs for the

seventh time in eight seasons. The Bucks are hoping that Lillard will help them win another championship, after they were surprisingly eliminated in the first round of the

playoffs by the Miami Heat this past season. The Bucks fired coach Mike Budenholzer and replaced him with Adrian Griffin after the playoff loss.Lillard wanted to go to Miami,

but the Blazers decided to trade him to Milwaukee instead. The Bucks are trading away two-time All-Star Holiday to acquire Lillard, who is a seven-time All-NBA selection.

Antetokounmpo has a player option for the 2025-26 season, and the Bucks are hoping that adding Lillard will convince him to stay in Milwaukee long-term.

The Blazers are getting a massive package in return for Lillard, but he is owed a lot of money over the next four years.

Acquiring Lillard is likely to make the Bucks even more of a title contender, as he is one of the most explosive offensive players in the NBA.
