Vikings' Loud Fans Cost Them Last-Minute Loss to Chargers

The Vikings nearly won their first game of the 2023 season in Week 3, but lost 28-24 to the Chargers.

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins said that he could not hear coach Kevin O'Connell's play call due to the deafening crowd noise at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Vikings were out of timeouts, so Cousins rushed the offense up to the line and prepared to run a first-and-goal play.

23 seconds ran off the clock before Cousins snapped the ball, and he opted to run his own play.

Cousins' final pass was tipped and intercepted, sealing the win for the Chargers.

O'Connell said that the most regrettable aspect of the loss was the decision not to spike the ball and save time for multiple attempts at the end zone.

O'Connell said that he was trying to be too aggressive by not spiking the ball.

The Vikings' 0-3 start is their worst in 10 years.

The Vikings will look to get their first win in Week 4 when they visit the Panthers.
